This notice covers two different things. What happens to a message you send Nezaam Ltd through this website, and what personal data nazm handles when you order from a shop that uses it, or run one. nazm is our product, and it lets local shops take orders over WhatsApp. Either way, the last section tells you how to ask us for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion.

If you get in touch through nezaam.co.uk
There is no contact form on this website, and no page on it sends us anything. Every way of reaching us is an email address you can see, and nothing leaves your device until you write the email yourself and press send.
Two other things on the site take typing, both on the review page. The question builder writes a sentence on screen for you to copy. It has no network connection of any kind, so what you type there never reaches us and is gone when you close the page.
The email check looks up the web address you type in public DNS, the directory that tells the rest of the internet where a domain's website and email are. Your browser asks Cloudflare's public DNS service for that domain's records, and Google's if Cloudflare does not answer. Each receives the domain and, as with any request your browser makes, your internet (IP) address, under its own terms for that service. Nothing you type there is sent to us. If you press its button to write to us, the contact page opens with the domain in its address so it can be filled in for you, and still nothing is sent until you send it.
When you email us, we hold that email the way we hold any email. Our address is hello@nezaam.co.uk, which is delivered to our mailbox at Google Workspace. We keep an enquiry while we are talking and delete it within 12 months of the last message, unless you become a client, in which case it is kept with that project's records. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time, using the section below. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not pass your details to anyone.
The website sets no cookies, and nothing on it follows you from page to page or from one visit to the next. Two things are worth being exact about rather than leaving you to find them.
Cloudflare serves this website, so Cloudflare handles every request for it and counts those requests at its own edge. We see how many times a page was asked for. We are not given a name, an account, or anything that would let us pick one reader out of the count.
Cloudflare also inserts a tag into every page for its own visitor measurement. We did not put it there and do not want it. The site's content security policy does not permit that script's address, so your browser refuses to load it and the measurement never runs. We are having the insertion switched off at source, and this paragraph goes when it is gone.
If you order from a shop on nazm
The shop you order from is responsible for its own customer list. nazm runs the ordering for that shop and handles your details on its behalf. We do not use them for any purpose of our own.
The ordering page has one tick box, asking whether the shop may send you offers and news on WhatsApp. It is not ticked for you, and you can order without ticking it.
What we collect when you order
- Your WhatsApp phone number, and the profile name you have set in WhatsApp. WhatsApp sends both to us with your message.
- The name you type on the ordering page.
- What you ordered, the options you chose, the total, and the times the order was placed, accepted, refused or completed.
- Your answer on the tick box, whether you ticked it or not: the exact wording that was on your screen, the version of that wording, when you answered, and the internet (IP) address your order was sent from.
We do not collect payment details. Orders are for collection and paid at the shop.
We do not store the content of your WhatsApp messages. A message you send the shop is used only to send you back a link to its menu, and what it says is not kept.
Your phone number is kept on your customer record and, for two hours, on the record behind the menu link we send you. Everywhere else in our system you are referred to by an internal identifier, so your number does not appear in web addresses, logs or error messages.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- To take and fulfil your order: because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
- For the shop's offers and news: your consent, and only your consent. You can order without giving it.
- To keep a record of your answer on the tick box: because data protection law requires that consent can be proved.
- To run a shop's service: because it is necessary for our contract with that shop.
Who else handles it
- The shop you order from, which sees your name, your WhatsApp number and your orders.
- Cloudflare, which runs our software on its global network. Our database is held in Western Europe. Requests, and the two-hour record behind a menu link, can be handled outside the UK.
- Meta Platforms, whose WhatsApp Business Platform carries the messages. Meta's systems can be outside the UK. Your conversation with the shop is also subject to WhatsApp's own terms.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with other shops.
If you run a shop on nazm
We hold your shop's name, its WhatsApp number, and the identifiers Meta issues for the WhatsApp Business account and phone number you connect. We use them only to run your ordering service and to contact you about it.
nazm's own list
nazm does not keep a list of its own today. When it does, you will only be on it if you message nazm's own WhatsApp number yourself to join. We will never add you from a shop's chat or from an order, and this notice will say what that list holds before it starts.
How to get a copy of your data, or have it deleted
Email malik@nezaam.co.uk with the WhatsApp number you ordered from, and tell us what you want: a copy of your data, a correction, deletion, or to stop the shop's offers and news. We will act on it and write back to you.
Or message the shop in the same WhatsApp chat you ordered in and ask them to remove you from their list. The shop reads its own WhatsApp inbox directly, so that request reaches a person.
We respond within one month, which is the time limit UK data protection law sets.
How long we keep it
Your WhatsApp number and profile name are kept while the shop uses nazm, unless you ask us to delete them.
Order records are kept while the shop uses nazm, and for as long as the shop's own tax and accounting obligations require.
The record behind a menu link deletes itself after two hours.
Consent records are kept for as long as we hold the data they relate to, because a consent record is the evidence that we were allowed to hold it. Consent records are never edited: a withdrawal is written as a new record alongside the original.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask for it in a form you can move to another service, object to how it is used, ask us to restrict its use, and withdraw consent at any time. Using any of these costs you nothing, and we will not treat you differently for it.
To complain about how we have handled your data, email malik@nezaam.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, and tell you the outcome. If you are still not happy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
